“Brokers for Barkers” Raised the Roof

Foster Dogs hosted our summertime fundraiser at Compass in Brooklyn last week, called “Brokers for Barkers.” When real estate company Compass approached us earlier this summer, along with charitable local company Rescue Chocolate, about organizing a fundraiser, we jumped at the opportunity to raise funds – and have a great time, all at once!

KIDS’ “PAWTY”

We included people of all ages, starting the afternoon with a children’s event from 3-5 PM. Private Picassos sponsored a children’s art station, and Compass provided snacks and additional activities for all the children. Sophie Gamand donated her new awesome “Pit Bull Flower Power” activity books, and four lucky kiddos went home with their very own books. Nothing like showing young children how awesome Pit-Bull-type dogs can be!

Photographer Milla Chappell of @realhappydogs and @realhappykids caught the most adorable photos of kids and pups at our Brokers for Barkers event. The dogs had a blast playing with kids and one-another, and some were adopted soon after or currently have adoptions pending. Interested in any of these dogs? Email info [at] fosterdogsnyc.com

This free children’s event encouraged kids to meet adoptable dogs, learn about rescue, and enjoy the company of animals when they might not otherwise have the chance at home.

Over $4,000 were raised from this amazing event, which included delicious catered food, unlimited drinks, wonderful raffle prizes, fabulous adoptable dogs, and of course – great company!

Our volunteers made this event a hit by handling dog scheduling, raffle tickets, check-in’s, event management, dog handling, and more. We couldn’t continue without the support of our amazing volunteers, especially our Steering Committee / Board:  Miriam, Kat, Melissa, Amalyah, & Tara.

We work hard on a limited budget to help dogs find foster homes and help rescue groups save many more lives. With these new funds of over $4,000, we can continue our work and save many more lives.

Thanks to everyone who joined us and supported!
