The bridge to creating a positive and inclusive animal foster community.

Foster Workshop Series

Dog Care Workshop at a Manhattan midtown apartment.

Our three-part foster workshop series focuses on the following themes: dog care, dog health, and dog training. Workshops are free and open to anyone interested in fostering a dog, and/or becoming a better dog caretaker in general. Our series aims to help people prepare themselves for what’s expected when fostering a dog, how to deal with challenges, and how to prepare one’s self for the journey.

We work with fosters caretakers from rescue groups all over NYC, and encourage organizations to recommend this event to their volunteers. Foster Dogs NYC is dedicated to supporting foster owners through the process, and creating a strong and vibrant community of foster caretakers. We’ve worked with the following companies and organizations for our workshop series: Calm Energy Dog Training, Animal Haven, BarkBox, The Sketchbook ProjectZen Dog Training, Brooklyn Dogtime, Culture Fix.

At each workshop, we invite a couple adoptable pups, to help show off their qualities while helping them improve their behavior. These events a great chance to meet other new foster caretakers, and to educate yourself about dog care!

Please consider donating to help us run more workshops. Increased funding will allow us to provide attendees with helpful materials for their foster experience, and will help us provide extra special treats to the adoptable dogs who attend.
