2/23/17: FOSTERED by Shirley!

1/31/17: Looking for a foster home or adopter. 7 years old, 10-15 lbs. Male Chihuahua mix. Good with dogs and kids.

Mango was surrendered after his owner was admitted into a nursing home. He has epilepsy and needs to remain on daily medication. He is a very sweet, loving, and loyal gentleman. He enjoys snuggling with humans, napping on the couch, and receiving affectionate pets, all in the comfort of a warm quiet home. He likes going on walks around the neighborhood and sniffing fellow dogs. He also enjoys going to the dog park, not to play chase with other dogs, but to go around to the humans and getting pets or sitting next to them on the bench. Every once in a blue moon, Mango would initiate play with other dogs in the park and we think that’s a very exciting day. He also gets along great with his current roommate, who is an active 1 year old rescue. He is a great travel and shopping companion. Mango travels really well in his tote bag on the subway. He enjoys people watching and napping on the trains (except for the C train because the sounds of the metal clanking and banging are scary and noisy!). When he goes shopping with you, he will wait patiently and walk around the shops with you until you’re done!

At our #FosterPackWalk in April!

Mango is a very special dog who can smile! When his humans come home at the end of the day, he hops off the couch where he had been napping, runs to greet everybody with a big cheesy toothy smile! He lifts his upper lip and shows off his snazzy snaggle-tooth. For those who have never met a dog who smiles can be intimidated, but Mango is just happy! He is completely housebroken and knows how to sit, stay, and lie down. He has no interest in toys, but loves anything food-related. He is possessive of his food but is happy to leave whatever he’s eating for a treat!
