Hi, my name is Penny! I’m a cuddly, strawberry blonde, brindle pit mix pup with a unique spotted nose.

During my time at the Animal Care Centers of NYC, I was featured in a “Pitties in PJs” photo shoot. I don’t know what pajamas are, but I really enjoyed the attention and was hopeful the photos would interest potential adopters. But no one adopted me and I was feeling unwanted after 3 weeks in the shelter. I was really surprised and lucky when my foster mom chose me to live with her and help me find my furever home.

I’m housebroken, crate trained, know my sit, and want nothing more than to snuggle with you. (I guarantee I fall asleep first!) I’m up to date on my vaccinations and spayed, so I’m ready to go home with you.

When I go on walks or dine al fresco with my foster mom, I meet lots of people. I sit on their feet and they’re so impressed with my sit and calm behavior. I also like to lick them, which makes children giggle.

I enjoy being bathed and towel dried…and running around the house after I’m clean. I have my own bed and baby blanket, and my foster mom kisses my forehead and tucks me in at bedtime. (Sometimes she lets me sleep in the bed, where I curl up next to her.)

Penny with her awesome Foster Dogs tote!

I may have had a sad life before as a throwaway mama, but I’m resilient and ready to be cherished just as I will adore you in return.

Are You My Mother? (Or Father?)

From her foster mom 8/2016: She’s terrific. She loves running each morning and cuddling on the couch. We’re working on her leash reactivity, and I’m planning to schedule a training session this weekend for extra help.
