Onyx Needs a Foster Home

GOOD UPDATE in 2016 HERE!

Previously posted here, Onyx needs a new foster home now! Please read her story and share. 5 yrs old, under 40 lbs, should not live with other pets.

Onyx has not had an easy life. Someone tied her to a pole in East NY and left her there to fend for herself. She was rescued, but sat in a cage waiting for someone special for five long years. On top of it all, she was the victim of a dog fight and she lost a small part of her face! Does this stop her? No! She continues to be a great dog.

She isn’t a fan of other dogs, but do you blame her with her history? She is still energetic, playful, and most importantly affectionate with people. Walking Onyx is a treat. She loves to run and prance. She will look back at you with these gleeful eyes and take off again. She also listens well. She is very attentive and great at focusing especially if you have a tennis ball in hand.

She loves to run after bouncy balls. Her favorite pass time is chewing on a dog bone or her peanut butter filled kong. She knows how to sit, stay and come here and is in the midst of learning how to give a handshake. She is such a smart dog and learns things fairly quickly. She is housebroken. She loves to go for long walks and get her ear scratched.”

She really is a sweet dog who deserves love and affection. If a new foster can’t be found, Onyx will have to return to a kennel. So please, all the fans of the underdog, think about giving Onyx a place where she can finally find happiness and call her home.
