Operation Foster Bound: Suzie’s Been Adopted!

Like hearing happy stories? You will love this: SUZIE has been adopted!!

“We love Suzie and we are so fortunate that she joined our family. Thank you to everyone at Shelter Chic, Susie’s Senior Dogs, Foster Dogs NYC and Suzie’s foster moms for helping her find her way to our family. We feel so lucky to be able to spoil our girl in her golden years!”

After ending up at when her family didn’t have time to keep her, older gal Suzie didn’t know if she’d ever have a family again. Thanks to Susie’s Senior Dogs and Manhattan ACC volunteer Caitlyn Himmel, she had guardian angels who helped get her noticed.

Foster Dogs Inc reached out to our Foster Roster applicants and found an excellent foster home with Katy and Julie, and Shelter Chic was able to take her into their rescue right away. Katy and Julie committed to fostering Suzie site-unseen (saying yes while they were on a trip, no less!).

We chose Suzie for our 2017 Operation Foster Bound recipients and donated $500 to her rescue group, along with providing her foster moms with dog care materials as needed (pink Easy Walk harness, Kong toy, treats, dog food, collar).

With the teamwork of Shelter Chic, Susie’s Senior Dogs, & Foster Dogs, this dog has found happiness!! Suzie is now living in MA with her forever family with a yard, a human sister, a huge doggy bed, and lots of sunlight to bask in.

Says adopters Christiana & Rory, “We first saw Suzie on Susie’s Senior Dogs in March and immediately felt a connection with her sweet little face in the initial post. I reached out to @shelterchic and filled out an application pretty much immediately. We were unable to get down to NYC to visit her right away but knew we would be in NYC in the beginning of April, so got back in touch then and to our surprise perfect little Suzie was still looking for a new family. Well, her wait was over as soon as we met her. We all bonded with Suzie right away. We brought her home the next day and the now four of us have never looked back. To say Suzie is sweet is the understatement of the year. Suzie is the sweetest dog and the most lovable little munchkin. She is super gentle with our three year old (who gives Suzie big bear hugs and also jumps in her bed with her) and they are quickly becoming inseparable. Suzie is a huge cuddlebug and loves nothing more than cuddling up with you on the couch or at your feet in her bed. She is also very social with other dogs and can chew a tennis ball apart in mere minutes. We love Suzie and we are so fortunate that she joined our family. Thank you to everyone at Shelter Chic, Susie’s Senior Dogs, Foster Dogs NYC and Suzie’s foster moms for helping her find her way to our family. We feel so lucky to be able to spoil our girl in her golden years!”

Now it’s time for our other Operation Foster Bound dogs to find foster homes and adopters. Meet them all on our site: fosterdogsnyc.com/OFB!
