We Brought Pups to a Swiffer BarkBox PUPUP

Scott Foley Sarah Brasky Pupup

Swiffer and Bark & Co have teamed up to remind pet parents that #ShedHappens, and to adopt a shelter pet! Last Thursday, a fabulous group of foster pups attended this BarkBox “Pupup” event in SoHo. [See photos from the 2013 Pupup we helped organize!]

Six lucky dogs were adopted at the evening event, and Foster Dogs NYC was thrilled to have helped make it possible, with all 16 dogs organized by Foster Dogs NYC & The Dog Matchmaker. Swiffer matched adoption fees, and donated to each rescue group for every dog who did not get adopted that day. Lots of happiness all-around!

We were also giddy to meet Scott Foley (Scandal, Felicity), who was head-over-heels for all the adoptable dogs. Says Procter & Gamble: “Actor, dad of three, and rescue pet parent of two, Scott Foley, is joining the effort to help spread the message that clean-up concerns should never get in the way of pet adoption and bringing home the love of a child’s first pet. Foley hosted a ‘Welcome Home’ event in New York City today, announcing the effort. At the event, Foley shared his own experience of adoption, played with a bevy of NYC-based adoptable pups and gave out Welcome Home Kits to families who brought home their new best friends.”

Foley says, “I will always remember that incredible moment – and the joy in my kids’ eyes – when we adopted our dog, Frankie.” […] With Swiffer, a quick, thorough clean-up leaves more time to watch my kids experience the love and companionship of our dog!” (via P&G)

Thanks to participating rescue groups Best Friends Animal Society, In Our Hands Rescue, Animal Lighthouse Rescue, and PupStarz Rescue. Each adopter went home with a “Welcome Home” kit from Swiffer and BarkBox, as part of a newly launched partnership and national effort to promote adoption.
