Foster Education Series: TRAINING

  • Animal Haven 200 Centre Street New York, NY, 10013 United States (map)

RSVP to our free workshop, 6-8 PM

200 Centre Street at Animal Haven Shelter.

"My foster doesn’t come when I call them by name."  "My adopted pup lunges at other dogs on walks."  "My foster barks when they hear the elevator."  "Crate training is turning into a nightmare! Help!!" Have you said any of these things recently?  Well look no further than this free, informative workshop coming at you from Foster Dogs Inc.

Sarah Dixon, Certified Dog Behavior Consultant and Program Coordinator at Instinct Dog Behavior and Training, along with Melissa Schiraldi, ADI Certified Service Dog Trainer who specializes in puppy development will provide attendees with the knowledge needed to transform that puller into a proper leash walker,  that anxious pup into a confident one and that barker into a calm pupper, just to name a few transformations.  You’ll leave with some effective strategies that address common training issues YOU can use with your rescue or foster pup!

Some adoptable dogs, currently under Animal Haven’s care, will be in attendance so that we can model training techniques and strategies. This is a great opportunity to not only learn and practice key dog training skills from professionals, but also connect with folks in the local dog rescue and foster community here in NYC.

Food and beverages will be provided.  We look forward to seeing you! While we <3 your dog, please leave him/her at home for this workshop. We will be led by trainers Sarah Dixon and Melissa Schiraldi of https://www.instinctdogtraining.com/
