Why We Foster is a new podcast about the amazing foster community committed to opening its homes (and hearts) to pets as they search for their forever families.

 

Host Stacey Axelrod (NYC Pet Photographer) has partnered with Foster Dogs Inc. to provide a glimpse into the world of fostering, including the crucial role it plays in saving the lives of shelter animals. Featuring inspiring stories from foster parents all over the country as they discuss the emotional rollercoaster of the foster experience, the revolving door of pets, and the rapidly-changing role of fostering and animal rescue within human society.

Meet the Host: Stacey Axelrod

Stacey Axelrod uses her background in Photojournalism to advocate for animal rescue through multimedia storytelling and creative campaigns. She has been involved in animal rescue throughout the last decade and previously worked as the Staff Photographer at both the ASPCA and Best Friends Animal Society in New York City.

Stacey currently runs her own business (NYC Pet Photographer) in Brooklyn, NY, and offers pro-bono photography services for local rescue organizations. Why We Foster is inspired by all the people she has met and stories she has heard while volunteering with Foster Dogs since 2015.
